Private sessions with a trained Clarity Breathwork practitioner are a very powerful way to transform your consciousness and your life! The first level of this work calls for a series of private sessions with a practitioner who has completed their training in Clarity Breathwork. We suggest a minimum of ten sessions with the same practitioner in order to allow for real depth, trust building and to experience a meaningful shift in your life. Further, it is recommended to do at least ten sessions with a woman and ten sessions with a man to help you process in different ways, and to learn to receive support from both sexes. In most people’s experience, a relatively short-term commitment to this process brings long-term and life transforming results.
The first session is approximately three hours long, and subsequent sessions are about two hours. In this initial session you have an opportunity to discuss in-depth with your practitioner where you are in your life, what you are wanting to change or release, and what you hope to create in your life as a result of this work. The practitioner will do a thorough interview with you in order to get to know you and your deeper patterns. You may discuss what you know about your birth, childhood, and family patterns and how they may be affecting your life. Your practitioner helps you understand your current issues by looking at the unconscious beliefs, blocked emotions, and energy that influenced and attracted them. The practitioner supports you in resolving these issues by looking at and transforming your unconscious beliefs, and helping you to meet and release any emotional or physical blocks that have held you back.
After the interview, you will be guided in a one hour breath session in which you will practice a circular connected breathing technique. This technique increases oxygen and energy flow in your body and deepens your awareness of body, mind and spirit. The Clarity Breathwork technique helps to dissolve energy blocks stored in the cells of the body. These energy blocks are typically connected to emotions, thoughts, and/or beliefs that were imprinted into the energy system of the body at an earlier—often very early (pre & peri-natal)—stage of life. Releasing these blocks, and the emotions and thoughts associated with them, allow the possibility of experiencing more energy and aliveness. During the breathing you may experience many sensations, have profound insights, release at a deep level, and feel rejuvenated and empowered!
At the close of the session, there is time to share your experience, integrate and understand the process on a deeper level. Your practitioner offers relevant suggestions, affirmations and possible assignments to work with until your next session. These follow-up activities are designed to support you in your ongoing process of healing and self-discovery.
After the first session, sessions are approximately two hours each. Every session with a Clarity Breathwork practitioner involves sharing, intuitive counseling and coaching, as well as approximately one hour of circular, connected breathing. The emphasis is on increasing awareness of the present moment and allowing what is most important to reveal itself. The frequency of the sessions will be determined between you and the practitioner. Ideally, sessions take place every week or two depending on scheduling. Although they can be spaced farther apart, commitment to complete at least 10 sessions over a several month period brings the richest results.
Group sessions are another powerful way to move energy and transform your life. Group sessions are offered in a variety of contexts, including retreats, workshops, and breathing circles. Group sessions have different purposes depending on the situation. Breathing circles typically are a wonderful opportunity for newcomers to be introduced to the work and the community, and to provide ongoing support to clients either in the midst of or after completing a series of ten (or more) sessions. We do not recommend that group breathwork sessions take the place of private sessions. Private sessions offer you one on one support and the undivided attention that allows you to unravel your patterns and limitations at a deeper level.
Group sessions provide the power of the group breathing together with the intention of healing, growth, understanding and acceptance of self and what is. As the group drops into their session together, energy builds, and a sense of individuality can soft and connection can deepen. One person releasing can support another energetically to relax and let go. It is also possible for a breather to become aware of beliefs and thoughts related to being in a group, such as comparisons, not getting enough attention, or aloneness. Bringing consciousness to these thoughts—which may seem distracting—may actually bring about a profound understanding of how one isolates or judges oneself or others, and with that understanding a release into something new.
Typically sessions are done in quiet, enabling the experience of each individual participant to develop at its own pace, and in its own way. Breathers are guided and supported by trained Clarity Breathwork practitioners to help them process themselves and move energy. As with private sessions, experiences vary widely from person to person and session to session. Emotions, thoughts, and memories stored in the body often reveal themselves as they move out of the system. Heightened states of clarity, bliss, forgiveness, and gratitude are common.
After the session, breathers are invited to share with partners and/or with the group. Sharing the breathwork experience aids integration, and often brings awareness of what happened to a deeper level. It is a heart opening and empowering experience to witness each other’s process and see that you are not alone.
In the 1960’s and early 70’s, water breathwork sessions in bathtubs and hot tubs were the primary method practiced by the pioneers of Rebirthing. Later in the 70’s, they discovered that dry sessions were as effective as sessions in water, and dry Rebirthing was born.
Clarity Breathwork recognizes water as an amazing healing medium. Using the two componenets of breath & water facilitates a sacred alchemy. Recent scientific research shows that the molecular structure of water can be transformed by the power of prayer and the energy of thought. Since water constitutes around 70% of the human body, we can be affected, healed and transformed as miraculously as water.
Water sessions have been an integral part of our retreats and private sessions. In Hawaii, we breathe in ancient birthing in the ocean– the largest living environment on Earth, at times attracting curious dolphins. In PachaMama we breathe in the jungle river surrounded by lush, tropical foliage. In our Mt.Shasta retreat, we breathe in a pristine mountain stream and do warm water sessions in bathtubsfilled with the highest known mineral content water in the U.S. Cold water breathwork helps to transform fear, the unconscious death urge, and patterns of disassociation and unconsciousness due to trauma, and emotional and/or chemical anesthesia. Hot water and body temperature water sessions provide a powerful doorway into the subconscious mind where memories from the womb and birth itself.
